Volunteer Expectations & Guidelines

At Melodies of Care, we are committed to bringing joy and healing to seniors through music. As a volunteer, you are an important part of our mission, and we ask that you follow these expectations to ensure a respectful, smooth, and rewarding experience for everyone. Volunteer Expectations Commitment: Once enrolled for an event, you are expected to attend and perform as scheduled. If you are unable to participate, you must notify the program coordinator at least 48 hours in advance so that adjustments can be made. Attendance & Punctuality: Volunteers must arrive on time for performances. Please plan your arrival and pickup carefully so events can run smoothly. Parental Supervision: Each student volunteer must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during events. Parents/guardians are fully responsible for their child’s transportation, drop-off, and pickup. Respect & Conduct: Treat seniors, staff, and fellow volunteers with kindness, patience, and respect. Follow all instructions given by Melodies of Care coordinators. Maintain proper performance etiquette (dress neatly, behave professionally, and stay focused). Music Preparation: Volunteers must come prepared with their pieces practiced and ready to perform. Bring your own instrument, music, and any supplies you need. Safety & Responsibility: Parents/guardians are responsible for their volunteer’s safety during all events. Melodies of Care is not responsible for lost items, transportation, or supervision outside of the performance setting.
